Do I tell brother that mom left life insurance to
Edger
He is asking if I found out about her two life insurance policies. Mom named me benificiary to them. They were only $4000 each. He gets the house, car and the rest of mom's money and stock. But I'm sure he will think he should have the life insurance money also. He is on SSI and food stamps. Can't hold a job. Has personality disorder. There is a supplemental needs trust to hold the money and stock. Mom asked me if it was ok to leave everything to brother. I said yes. Even though I didn't want to. Can't remember if she said she put my name as benificiary for life insurance cause brother can't inherit or if when she told me I was named benificiary because she wanted me to have something.

If he was mentally retarded, he would be able to understand that your mom left something to you too.
Your brother isn't like that. He's either working the system and going to be angry at you.
Or not...and going to be angry at you.
He's gotten 99% of the estate. Going after the small amount left to you....is...predictable. As I said, he doesn't have the mental capacity to understand.
Anyway, I don't think any parent would want to know their children are fighting over their will. And I assume your mom put a lot of thought into hers.
I know this has become an ongoing thorn in your side but it sounds as though you've accomplished a lot since your mother's passing. I don't know how you got it all done.
If the attorney can't help then simply call the insurance company or if you don't have a copy of your mother's will; see if you can get a copy.
It would be nice if you could just get all the info in place now to lighten your load.
