Big Fight

so the whole family was together and my pot headed brother gets drunk and stupid gets in my face about wendys fries, something about hes neever heard, mind you this is after a 20 minute lecture about how they suck. becomes violent, stupid and attacking several members of the family we all left after some time and several injurys, came back 2 hours latter after the cops came and told him he needs professional help seriously. well not 10 minutes later he comes out accusing us of calling the cops, it was the neighbors, and the whole physical altercation starts all over again. talk about killing someone and stabbing someone, i was scared he fully engaged on someone trying to stay out of it and i picked up something big and hit him 3 maybe 4 times, he finally stopped and had to go to hospital and im afraid of going to jail. but everyones wanting to throw me under the bus and i dont know what to do.

Get both police report numbers in case you need them in the future. If he threatened to harm you in any way first,get a stay way order on him. The police say paper trails mean alot. Sometimes you just have to keep away from people that have problems with drinking and so forth,until they seek help. Main thing is keep your distance to avoid further issues right now. You do not say if you live in the same home as your brother.

Nothing you can do about that fight.

Next fight...leave. He's not worth going to jail over, and neither are Wendy's fries. Walk away, leave, sleep in your car if you have to. If you don't have a car, make an exit plan for where you'd go and what you'd do.

If you can, find another place to live.


If the police come to talk to you, don't talk. It's one of two situations, one they're going to arrest you...in which case, you have the right to have a lawyer there. Or two, they're not going to arrest you...in which case you have the right to leave.

Nothing you EVER say to the police can help you. EVER.

Maybe I'm nave, but I'd go to the police before they come to you and file a report against HIM. After all, the police came once, so there's documentation that he was already agitated. I'd say self defense, which is true.
