It's not your fault. You said something in anger that you shouldn't have, but the accident is not your fault. You shouldn't feel guilty for a car accident that was not caused by you. Inevitably, you can't keep rescuing your sister. She needs to do it for herself or it's never going to stick. You can turn it into the authorities (especially if it is around or at the children), but to keep rescuing her is enabling her behavior and could get you in trouble if you lose your cool with the guy. Saving her once is great, but if she keeps going back you are no longer saving her...you're allowing the behavior (and even condoning) to continue. Hope she gets help as well.

Hate to say this but the bible speaks very clearly about being careful of what your tongue says...With that being said yes I do think we may cause things or behaviors to exsist in ppls lives that we dont necessarily mean to say..I have been having to watch my tongue too as it could be a hurtful thing sometimes.Do call and apoligize and offer help where it may be needed..Do not wish things upon ppl instead start saying to yourself it is their life and their decisions to stay together no matter what and I need to be supportive to the best I could be..and do your best..

Fortunately, your sister and nephew were not in the car, and her bf is still alive. There is a reason for everything, God does know what is going to happen, but you did not cause it by saying what you said - remember, we as humans do not have that much power. The purpose may be to get him to become a better person - or, it may be to get you to think about yourself and how you handle this situation - or both. This will be a growing experience for all involved - take it, learn from it, and do the best you can to move forward with your new knowledge, but do not blame yourself for it - it is no more your fault that it is that your sister still sees him after all the abuse - it is something you cannot control. It definately made me learn to start biting my tongue. Both of them are going to live, the friend only has a broken wrist and ankle, but the bf has a broken back. The worst part is? The day after, they were bragging about how they were drifting and doing brodies. They were BRAGGING!!!! It's so irritating. They are SO lucky they're even alive, we went out and looked at the tracks, they were swerving from side to side, then hit a bump in the road, took out a pole, jumped a small cliff, flew off a cliff and nose dived at the bottom, then the car rolled about 15 more feet.. Their kids could have grown up without dads. And they're bragging. I can't even stand it. I still feel bad for what I said, but after that I no longer feel bad that they're injured. If they had died I'd feel horrible, but no. I can't do that since they think it's all funny. I'm sorry if that makes me horrible, but I just think it's ridiculous.

It doesn't make you horrible, it makes you human - I too would be just so frustrated at the lack of respect and thankfulness for their lives - I think some people just believe they are entitled to it, and do not realize how precious it is. It seems they do not take it seriously so there is not reason for you to keep worrying about it - you have a wedding to plan, after all!

you feel guilt cause you hoped there would be some justice re the VIOLENT boyfriend....if you hadn't hoped the...inevitible...had happened, you'd be able to deal with what happened, and even be happy.

truth is: mr violence wont be smacking your sister around anymore----and maybe THAT is really the important part.

be glad the idiot didn't hurt some other driver, with his drifting and doing brodies.
