My favorite uncle passed away from bone cancer 5 years ago. In april of 2004 he was diagnosed with esphogaus cancer. After surgery and a few tests, he was cancer free in june of 2004. Around January 2005, he wasnt feeling well and always had a pain in his neck and shoulder. One morning he found a lump and his wife took him to see his doctor. There was no news of cancer at that time. Late april/ early may he went back to the doctor for multiple tests. A few days later he told the family that he was diagnosed with terminal bone cancer and that it was spread throughout his body. He was given 6 months- a year to live. He passed away a month and a half later on July 3rd, 2005. That day changed everything for me. When he died, part of me did too. I didnt understand and I didnt know how to let go. I still dont. I think of him every day and every day, it feels like I lose him all over again. I cant move on and I cant forget. His life and the cancer he had, became pretty much my life after he was gone. Every day its him I think about. Its his battle he fought and lost that occupies my thoughts. Im afraid to move on because I dont want to lose what I still have of him. How does it get easier?
