I was wondering if anybody had any suggestions when my son gets really bad to where he is unsafe at home but the hospital tells me they will not take him. Right now I think he needs to go, but in the past they have told me that unless he is a harm to himself or others or psychotic. since he told me his "sneaky kids" are going to leave him alone, he has told me this in the past and then he did get hospitalized but for thoughts of hurting himself, and he has not done anything physically to us or himself what can I do? is there any way to do more than watch him. I am kind of afraid to go to sleep tonight, but right now all is quiet....what should I do?

I still don't fully understand the nature of these hallucinations, could it not be he is simply making this up to get attention from you?
If so his attempt to manipulate you is then making you attempt to manipulate the mental health system which seems very unhealthy.
What advice does your doctor give?
When she is manic & hallucinating, she has attempted suicide, set the house on fire & committed felony assault.
When I see her starting to spiral, I make no apologies for doing whatever I have to to get her hospitalized & stabilized ASAP.
