Is there a pattern to the cycles? Beyond just triggers, something more like seasonal?
I'm not really sure what I'm dealing with in my husband. Bipolar, schizophrenia. I see some characteristics of each. I know no one here can make a diagnosis. But I'm not certain what to do. Maybe just talking t out here will help.
Just around this time last year my husband had some kind of break. A big one. I think there have been others. But last year he really got my attention. Delusions. Paranoia. I don't know. We had renters in house. (Our first experience really). They made a list of things in the house that were in need of repair. He saw it as an attack on us. He wanted to buy them out of the contract. His mannerisms, he actions...they all seemed skewed. Then somethings happened at work. He is a medical doctor. Runs his own practice. Essential he wanted his office staff to sign a contract stating they would defer to him on all spiritual matters [at work]. So they quit. He basically laid down the same ultimatum to me. "Get behind me 100%, no questions asked, do as I say when I say." Hyper-sexualism...drop everything and have sex with me right this minute. We had even gone to some counseling. But in his mind the counselor was wrong. I was just trying to beat him down. Take away his manhood. He should be the boss and I should be the submissive and just do as he says and not question. It was my fault he looks at porn because that's the only thing he can control. You can't argue your point with him because God told him. I'm sure there's more.... But anyway I haven't backed down. I've stood my ground.
But I'm starting to see some of the signs.... Paranoia. Delusions.
Doesn't matter what it is people are out to get him. Little league football. Work. Church. Community. If people aren't jumping on his band wagon than they just be out to get him.
Someone we know...a young man w disabilities was just arrested for bad stuff. But my husband swears he doesn't have the capabilities to be the lead man on the crime. My husband wants to step in and do something , prove this kid is innocent. Huge crime. Huge investigation. A year long involving homeland security. But my husband is right. Even tho he has nothing solid. Several years ago a young girl died. My husband is certain it was abuse...no proof sans an incident over 10 yrs ago. But he told me the other day that's why God hasn't let it rain here. It's God's judgement on us for no doing anything about the innocent.
And now. He thinks he has the cure for Ebola. He's a smart man. I don't doubt that for a second. But he hasn't done any laboratory research. It's only possible that he has read things about Ebola. But never truly studied it.
And before all this.... 4 yrs ago, before I truly suspected a personality disorder...he made decisions based on something we call "fleecing". It's from the bible. It's very much like flipping a coin. But he used his watch. If the second hand was before 30 seconds the answer was yes. After 30 seconds the answer was no. It was on most decisions he made... God can I have this cookie. He watch was after 30 seconds then he didn't eat the cookie. He promises he has stopped doing that. But still uses the God told me.....
So we are back to the same time of year. And I'm seeing signs of it. So I'm just wondering if there are seasonal patterns to personality disorders.

I find myself going places in the car and not wanting to get out of the car. I come back home and I don't want to get out of the car. I think it's the only time I spend reflecting. Chronic tiredness from Long Covid plus the immunosupressing meds for my Crohn's is slowing me down but everything just seems a massive effort. I am dealing with the paperwork following my father's death but it's not...

Wow, it's the middle of the week already!Today is our 11 year anniversary, so we're going out to a nice dinner. I'm losing a lot of sleep these days, hence a wonky schedule and uncomfortable feelings. But I know it will pass, eventually.I hope all of you have a peaceful day, and may good things come your way!

I'm not sure how you will get him to another doctor but that is the only way - in particular if it is bipolar which of course as you know requires medication.
