Now He Wants A Divorce

So yesterday morning I was upset because he was making a lot of noise very early in the morning. I said you know I might like to sleep in one day a week, do you think you could be quiet? He goes "when am I supposed to do this?" and get this He's loading the dishwasher. ?I should have known right then that something was up. He hasn't loaded the dishwasher in a year!Still I don't get that his evil twin is coming out. I said that he was being disrectful and he just went off. He said he was gonna call DFAC and the police on me because I was abusing our child. And not to talk to him because his attourney would be contacting mine and the only reason he was here was to protect our daughter from me. LOok I have only ever swatted her on the bottom, never spanked her and that was years ago.All this because there were dishes in the sink. So you young things out there see if this is the kind of life you want to live cuz it's been like this for almost 30 years.

I am so sorry that you have to go tru this. Is he on medications? Had he been acting "normal" up until this happened?

He hasn't been "normal" since last April, Then ,suddenly, he started going to a Baptist Church and got saved, Baptised. Now He's deeply relgious, carring the Bible everywhere, listening only to Christain music, Cross hanging from the mirrow, church twice a week. this is ALL completely opposite of what he was. He takes synthriod, fish oil, ginco and some powerfull 12 pills a day life extending vitamins, St. John's Wort and Asperin.

We are all Christians at home, deeply involved in church, prayers, fasting etc, but last year during husband's 1st episode (he hadn't been diagnosed yet) he took "religion" to the extreme, preaching in the streeets, visiting gang leaders and drug dealers(preaching to them) and trying to "save" everyone in town...That was the 1st sign of mania and what got me to talk to Dr for the first time... I guess what I'm trying to say is that it looks to me like your husband hasn't gotten out of that episode... they can last a long time, and even with meds they can always have a relapse...
Maybe he's not taking the right medications either, it can also take time to find the right ones, everyone's different and what works for one, might not workk for others.
Believe me, I know how you feel. You'll be in my prayers.

If you've read the other stories, there's a common thread. He doe'snt see that He has a problem--in his head I have the problem. So he is self medicating with all those supplememnts that are supposed to work for all kinds of problems, ironicly bi-polar being one. Also the tyriod being shot can cause similar symptoms along with the 2 strokes, partically the one in the left front lobe.

My husband could not accept that he had a problem either, and he used pot to self-medicate. I had to sign a section 25 of the Mental health act petition (I think that's what is called) to get him help. If you have reason to suspect he could harm others or himseld,you can always resort to that... they take his right away, and they put in on medication. You have to act as soon as you can, because the longer BP is left untreated the worst his episodes will become.
