I got my S.S.D. and the thought that I could leave now is running thru my head. I could just take my youngest son and go. I can now afford to leave. Leave my son with BP, leave my husband with chronic pain and all his complaints and overmedicated problems. I could leave all this bull- sh*t behind. I could leave 16 years of crap and never have to deal with these people again. I could have a future where when I wake up in the morning there wouldn't be any drama, or have to watch my tongue,or walk on egg shells for fear of a blow up. My son with BP is 25 years old, but my husband treats him like he's 12. I can't stand the two of them any more. And now I could leave. They wouldn't have a clue as They are oblivious of everything besides themselves. I could go. Break their hearts. Husband would cry (he always cries) My son would hate all women, since he pretty much thinks we're all whores anyway. I could go. and it is so TEMPTING, it's scary.

I find myself going places in the car and not wanting to get out of the car. I come back home and I don't want to get out of the car. I think it's the only time I spend reflecting. Chronic tiredness from Long Covid plus the immunosupressing meds for my Crohn's is slowing me down but everything just seems a massive effort. I am dealing with the paperwork following my father's death but it's not...

Wow, it's the middle of the week already!Today is our 11 year anniversary, so we're going out to a nice dinner. I'm losing a lot of sleep these days, hence a wonky schedule and uncomfortable feelings. But I know it will pass, eventually.I hope all of you have a peaceful day, and may good things come your way!

Your son is 25, not 12 and he has a responsibility to sort his life out.
Other than saying that, I don't know what to add. If it wasn't for his son I'd say kick him out - maybe he'd wake up and stop wasting his life.
I really wish I had some advice for you.
My son and I are total opposites to the B"s. We used to be laid back with fun and beauty in our lives. Now we are trapped in a world of lies, vulgarty, drama, drama, drama. Such extreme highs and lows that we are now hiding in our own ways. T works 2 jobs and spends the rest of his time in his room. Won't move out because he is afraid of what will be happening here. He is the peace maker. Sucks to be him. He should be my priority, but I am so caught up in the world of the B's, How can I leave them after everything we have been through, how can I leave when they would destroy eachother, when they are sick? But how can I stay in a place that is slowly ripping all the feeling from our lives? Driving us into dispair?
Can I make a couple of suggestions? Stay and talk to us here but maybe also talk on the family issues board..
also think about getting a counsellor as a sounding board for you - I think you need to work with someone professional to make an assessment whether you main issue is your step son or after how you have described yourself and T whether your realationship with your husband is also not good for you and it's both of them.
Life is too precious for you and T to spend it trying to prop up two people that even if their problems were solved would still be toxic to you.
that's how it sounds to me - if you agree great, if I'm wrong that's also fine because maybe it provokes you to clarify your thinking
talking to someone who can help you seperate things out will help you make a decision..and then whatever you decide I think you need someone professional who is on "your side" to support you through whatever it is you need to do whether you stay or go.
Cat, may God bless you and with His supernatural love and power, turn your lives around. Loving hugs. Lorrie9
