The worst that will happen is that he will complain about the new hobby, but how is that any different? The best is that you will have a way to grow that will be uniquely yours, and will provide an outlet from the frustrations he causes.
Best of luck to you.
Only you know your limits, and how much you can handle. I've just had enough, my husband is not medicated, and if he is, it's not working. We only get to live this life once, and I'm tired of crying and being treated badly when all I do is try to help. We have to set boundaries for our own sanity and self preservation. I love my walking & yoga classes, and I too prefer to be at work to escape the insanity. I try to focus on my behavior and whether to react or ignore the inappropriateness of my husband.
Sorry I don't really have advice, per se, but I can lend an ear and totally understand what you're going through. Hope you enjoyed Christmas with your son, I know I did. Wishing you peace!
