Hi,
I am feeling lost.
My wife just got really angry at me for embarassing her in front of my family. She left the room immediately. I was saying that we might not be able to afford tickets to something she wanted to go to. And that embarassed her. She whispered to me your pathetic and left.
I went after her and we had a huge fight. I've been asking her what I did to embarass her and she doesn't tell me enough to understand her. She tells me I embarassed her. She starts calling me names and saying all this hurtful stuff. I start yelling I am trying to care about you! And she keeps saying hurtful stuff. I am animated when I talk and use a lot of emotions. I emphasize things I say. For instance, she says something like I'm a jerk. I say WHHHHY am I jerk? I don't understand. And she ignores the question and says something else hurtful. And then she starts to say leave me alone and I say things like I want to understand you so this doesn't happen again. Help me understand you! She doesn't and ignores it. I eventually end up leaving and feeling super confused. She attacks everything about me and I fight for her to tell me what upset her.
The question I have now...is am I bipolar? When we fight, she keeps pushing me to say something bad about her and I never do. I answer all of her questions and then when she ignores or refuses to answer my question, I get very upset and I don't have racing thoughts but I don't know how to talk to her because she isn't listening.
Is she bipolar? She's said she has anger issues and I understand anger but when I try to understand what caused her to be angry, she shuts down on me. Like this example, I wanted to know how I embarassed her and she completely started insulting me. She says them just to hurt me and then the next day says something completely different.
It happens every week where we fight and she gets upset with me and then doesn't seem to let me know what upset her. Just that she was upset and I end up confused.
Am I or is she or are we both bipolar?

Which explains the mysterious fevers and my extra fatigue. I'm so glad I pushed for answers.

Due to my increased paranoia, anxiety, and a panic attack over the weekend, my psychiatrist has put me back in a full dose of Zyprexa until further notice. Every time I think I'm getting ahead something happens and it's back to square one. I knew he was gonna do this but I can't help feeling disappointed. It is what it is.

you sound entirely to level headed to be. if somone pushes my buttons over and over, I freak, meds or no.
anyway...maybe consider stop trying to be so understanding. if she crosses a line, the loving hting to do is point it out. discipline, not being a yes man, is love.
your reaction could be loving, like, you could just tell her calmly you are walking away and leave the house if necessary but she, like some even without bipolar, will push until they can't anymore. it is part of human nature and can't always be helped. just think of a vice you have. can you always control it?
As someone with bipolar yourself you'd be aware of the real signs, speeeding up of speaking, becoming incomprehensible, euphoria, risky behaviour etc which is associated with bipolar.
People being over sensitive and then fighting and then seemingly saying something else can be alot of things. A lot of those things are not classed as a disorder. Not wanting to risk the ire of the ladies here, one explanation would be hormonal for example.
I agree with the suggestion about getting counselling.
