Hi haven't been here for awhile and have certainly missed the advise I get here. I have been married for over 25 years and we have on child who is an adult. The bottom line is my husband is very nasty and verbally abusive to me. He calls me all kind of insulting names and then blames me when we fight about it because he said he is sick and can't help himself and I should just take it. We have not been speaking for a few days now and he thinks I am the one who should apologize. He got made because after he ranted at me and called me all kinds of names, i didn't come and sit and watch tv with him. I went to bed. When he came to bed he through me out of the room to sleep in the other room. I was yelling back at him saying remember you through me out. The next day as usual I went to him to apologize to make peace, but he said my apology was not a good one because I did explain why I was so upset, and he told me I should just shut up. It has now been 4 days we have not spoken and I would apologize but when I get home from work the bedroom door is shut and I don't know if I should knock. In addition, he locked me out from my belongings and I had to go to work in the same pants two days in a row. thankfully I had another jacket in the other room. I had to go out and buy some clothes so I can go to work. I am financially tied to this and I could lose a lot, but I am starting to think that maybe it is worth it. I have put a lot of years into this marriage, but I am very tired of this and I am sure he is also. My husband expects me to do as I am told when he is like this. I feel very guilty if I leave because he says would you leave if I had cancer, but I feel this is now hurting me. Is it wrong to want a simple life. Thanks for letting me get this out.

I find myself going places in the car and not wanting to get out of the car. I come back home and I don't want to get out of the car. I think it's the only time I spend reflecting. Chronic tiredness from Long Covid plus the immunosupressing meds for my Crohn's is slowing me down but everything just seems a massive effort. I am dealing with the paperwork following my father's death but it's not...

Wow, it's the middle of the week already!Today is our 11 year anniversary, so we're going out to a nice dinner. I'm losing a lot of sleep these days, hence a wonky schedule and uncomfortable feelings. But I know it will pass, eventually.I hope all of you have a peaceful day, and may good things come your way!

It's unlikely that he'll suddenly magically treat you better - if anything it's likely to get worse.
If it were bipolar he would be "normal" for periods of time. But he's simply abusive and that has nothing to do with being ill.

If he hasn't spoken in 4 days and is behind a locked door, are you even sure he is still in there?
I hope you find a way to get out. You deserve a life, and that's not what you've got right now. Try calling one of the helplines - just talk to them and see what they can do. Just knowing you have options may be helpful for you. It can't hurt.
Hugs....
