My adult Bipolar son disappears on some wild escapade when in a manic state, then will not answer his phone. Then he will call at like 3 a.m. in the next town desparate and afraid and ask me to come and get him. What should I do? I don't want to enable him, but I am so afraid he will get hurt if I don't accomodate him.

Wow, it's the middle of the week already!Today is our 11 year anniversary, so we're going out to a nice dinner. I'm losing a lot of sleep these days, hence a wonky schedule and uncomfortable feelings. But I know it will pass, eventually.I hope all of you have a peaceful day, and may good things come your way!

If it is genuinely a bipolar episode then yes he probably is frightened and vulnerable - many people have no real knowledge on what they did while they are truely manic so it must be scary to find yourself somewhere unfamiliar and no knowledge of how you got there.
Is he on meds?
