Yes he claims General Anxiety Disorder.
Its all so confusing and I guess it really doesn't matter considering even if he does admit to whatever he has been diagnosed with he still wont accountability for anything he does. So is pointless than anyway..........I feel for my child. I am free from most of his episodes. But my poor innocent child must be subject to them........
Or he can of course have GAD as well. He can also be Bipolar AND borderline.
My suggestion would be to get a second opinion.
Here's a link to a post about Borderline

Anyway, thank you all for responding.
I hope you had/have a beautiful day

When you say you wished he sought help - presumably he got himself diagnosed previously and so there is hope he may seek further help.
I think there is a strong possibility of him having a personality disorder - for example Borderline comes from "inconsistent parenting" rather than outright abuse - and from what you have said of his parents I think it's almost inevitable he had such a childhood.
Borderline has a different treatment from Bipolar, it's a specific therapy method not meds. So even if he is Bipolar if there is a personality disorder in there you will only ever get so far with meds.
He has no real friends. Most of who he associates with are people who have never witnessed his "true" behavior. He defines himself through his job which is being a mechanic or "auto technician" as he likes to be called, he is good at his job but has a hard time with the other mechanics as his ego is huge. When he's not at work he sits on his porch and smokes pot and cigarette after cigarettes surfing the internet for arguments and attention. He's been married and separated then has had 3 more relationship since our divorce 5 yrs ago.
He can change with help if he chooses to... You continuing to enabling him/codependent isn't helping either one of you and never will..
There's a lot of info on both on the net... Putting up boundaries that are healthy for you would make a great difference in your life... You might need some therapy as well.... Why have you been attracted ongoing to someone who is so abusive??... Why have you spent so much time trying to change and rescue him??
There is a lot of good help for both of you and it will in turn help your children
Big hug for you and a blessing...x
Thank you....
I do accept my enabling. And I had great boundaries until I gave it one more chance for the sake of our child.
I am in therapy as well is our child. And our child has been diagnosed with Anxiety as I have been diagnosed with anxiety, Battered women syndrome.
My grandmother used to say I have been blessed with a big heart but that it is also a curse.
I have learned my lesson for the last time. Now its about fixing me and my youngest.
Thank you again :0) Hugs back.
The program Intervention gives a very clear view of enabling behaviour.. It happens to be about addiction however even without addiction the enabling does the same thing... Letting someone fall and get themselves up can be the best give you can give them..

I don't think your trying to beat me up at all. In fact I welcome people reminding me that I shouldn't enable his behavior any further because that's what help calm any urges to any different feelings I may have.
Again, Thank you

I think it is much more than one thing. To bad he doesn't care for our child more than himself and wont seek help to deal.
