My daughter is 17 years old and Bi Polar type 1. She is currently in a hospital. This is our 3rd visit in 3 months. We are having a screening done to see if we can get her into a treatment center also known as a ptrf. This will be her 2 time for his, The first time was a joke. she was 13 and they did nothing to help her. anyway. I am really struggling with making this choice. I know it is the right thing yet a part of me is saying lets give her another chance to be at home and attend her school and be with her friends.. She is aware we are discussing this and she is not really throwing a fit and stuff, she has said she just wants to come home and she is working hard at making better choices. but that is to try and keep us from sending her, she is coming home today from the hospital and the screening is set for tuesday. so she will be home a few days which makes it even harder. too see her laughing and being good makes it a very hard choice to put her there. I hate this.... makes me feel like a terrible person,, She will always have this dx and sending her someplace will not cure it, but but will it help her learn how to better manage it she wants to go to college and be a social worker and work with kids. she is awesome with little kids.. I want her to have this life she wants. I feel like I am between a rock and a hard place...

I find myself going places in the car and not wanting to get out of the car. I come back home and I don't want to get out of the car. I think it's the only time I spend reflecting. Chronic tiredness from Long Covid plus the immunosupressing meds for my Crohn's is slowing me down but everything just seems a massive effort. I am dealing with the paperwork following my father's death but it's not...

Wow, it's the middle of the week already!Today is our 11 year anniversary, so we're going out to a nice dinner. I'm losing a lot of sleep these days, hence a wonky schedule and uncomfortable feelings. But I know it will pass, eventually.I hope all of you have a peaceful day, and may good things come your way!

If it's her 3rd visit in 3 months it doesn't seem they are working.
One thing I've picked up from friends that end up in hospital is that the level of care over sorting out the meds is not as good as when you have a proper dialogue with a psychiatrist and work together to find the right mix for you.
Are you able to support her in working more long term with a psychiatrist to sort this?
Lots of effort going in but the results are disappointing for all. Do you know what meds she is on?
You would hope after 2 years the meds would be largely sorted. As you probably already know therapy only works if someone is fairly co-herent and stable - otherwise it's of less value.
