Yesterday was the third anniversary of my son being sentenced to 20 years. All I could do was go to bed early and wait for the day to pass.

My son was in jail two years before his trial (denied bail), so he's been incarcerated for 5 years now. He's only 23. Ugh. What a life.

I know the feeling. My son has been in for almost 14mo of a 25 yr. sentence, and it feels like an eternity already. This morning I was wanting to mark the day off on the calendar hoping in some way it would make the time move faster. Can't wrap my brain around this experience......truly a trail of tears.

Mary - Hugs to you. I am so sorry - Just judging by the pain I feel about my son's situation I can only imagine that those of you whose sons are incarcerated must be in agony and I am so sorry for that ....

I can feel for you. October 1st will have the same affect on me each year until my husband comes home. Only been a day but I miss him so much. ((Hugs))

It's been hard every year we hit another anniversary of when he was arrested. It's been hard, but we have marched on, praying that he will return home sooner than 30 yrs... (Hugs)

Sometimes that is all we can do. Nothing wrong with going to bed early. Sometimes if i think about the long run it is too much. If i take it day by day it is easier. I am just grateful to have him in my life and able to talk to him and write him. Yes...i would like him back but that is not the case. I have no control over that.

All i can say is support and love him. He needs it. You need it.

Btw....that is one cute siberian husky! I miss my huskies!

Sorry not to reply sooner Mary i know exactly how you felt as do many others on this forum and having just gone through another birthday without my son i too had a sad day so i want to send you big hug and many blessings. Hold tight we will get through this nightmare. love andy

Thank you. Your kind words have helped me tremendously. I wish we all didn't have to have this life, but, I too, believe we'll make it through this nightmare. My beautiful huskies help, too. :)

I know how you feel since in a couple weeks it will be a year since my son's sentencing, and he was in jail for 8 months before that.
