Sorry but this is true.... Does anyone have any info on this. He is not supposed to have internet access per one of his stipulations, which is fine. So when he went to his group meeting yesterday everyone was told to set their phone out on the table. Of course she found his facebook app which he is not supposed to have. So they wanted to come and do a home check. We have a computer that I use and an xbox that he mainly plays on bc he is home all day. We do have internet that we just got a month ago but it was for me to be able to do stuff I need to do and he does not have access to it bc when I leave I take the router. Apparently the P.O. didn't believe this just bc he doesn't think he plays xbox without being online. So he is making us get rid of our computer, the internet and his phone. I need thoughts on this.... bc its pissed me off ohhh and his phone didn't have internet access unless it was wifi bc it had been turned off.

I didn't think he could but he could still be more of a dick and give him more than one strike and send him back too. So we are sending our computer to our cousins which is right next door and transferring the internet there so I can still use it. Its almost giving in, which I hate, but working around it. Honestly he came to the house expecting to find something and got mad when he didn't.

I had a Playstation while on SR. My PO put some tape over the back, where the internet would plug in. He would check occasionally to make sure that it wasn't tampered with. They can also instal a real time tracking software on the computer.

You don't need the net to use a Xbox or a ps3/ps4 some people just dont get that!

may i ask? is there a way to do your stuff without the internet? did you know the internet was not to be where he lives before he came? or was it a big surprise on the day of? i already know my son has to have a phone with no net or camera and he has not even hit halfway house yet.

The main reason I got the internet was so my son could watch the shows he likes to watch. Here the basic internet is about $30-50 cheaper than cable.. Yes I know he is not supposed to have internet that's why he does not have access to it. Also just found out last bc we both swore this guy was familiar that we know a lot of the same people and that he has met him before in the past.with that and him being around the same age as us is it a conflict of interest? We live in a relatively small town where if you don't know one person someone you know does.

Well, if his stipulations said no internet access, then his phone should not have been able to access it at all. They still make basic cell phones.
I know probation rules can sometimes seem (and actually be) harsh, senseless and random in application but it's best to play by the rules and work to have them lifted or a compromise reached.
We were allowed to have internet but only if the PO could check our computer at any time and only after I explained I needed it for work.
Other things I had to get rid of temporarily like: movies with nudity, and weapons I own and he had to ask for anything out of the ordinary to approved. So, going to special functions needed approval.
Yes, it was a PITA but, in the end, my hubby was let off probation in half time.

My husband got violated for having FB on his phone when one of his terms was no internet access and no social media. He had to do 30 days. Frankly, it was a deal-breaker for me -- why risk freedom?

We were told since sentencing no game boxes that are or could be wifi or computer hook up-able. That goes for any cell phone that can access the Internet etc - none. No internet access at all in our house. Period point blank.

He uses first generation cell phone so it can not access internet. Approximately has been 3 years now.
We are in Ohio.

We have the computer that he uses monitored for work. Mine is locked in a different room with a password. No play boxes no WiFi enabled dvd. Only dvds that are approved. So lots of books in the house. We have phones but each month I forward a copy of the bill showing Data turned off and usage. and The camera in the i phone can be turned off and only the po has the password. None of this is work time in Jail.

Might rethink the bad po thing... You do have your partner and your son in the same house.... I haven't for 2 years. We have separate places and a visitation schedule for me. His son hasn't seen him 2 years. PO even forbids me talking to my son about his father.
