As shown by all the posts about Christmas, it's hard for all of us with loved ones who aren't around for the holidays. I just want to wish you all a Merry Christmas -- it's a little nicer knowing we have this group to turn to!
I was able to see my son for the first time since he was sentenced -- it was the first time going to the state penitentiary, so it was a little strange. But it was kinda nice. Being the last Sunday before Christmas, there were a lot of families there, and the visitors room had Christmas decorations up. It was nice to be able to talk to my son face to face instead of through a window using the phone. That definitely put me in a little better mood!

It sounds a little pathetic to think that is so important to him. Is that what prison is all about? It makes me sad.
Ready for a fire and to watch a "Christmas Story". Hope that brightens my mood!
When I last visited hubby, the inmates were decorating the picture wall. It was funny to watch them do this, as the wrapping paper was crooked and they were trying to figure out where to use the ribbon and bow. Even when people told them how to use them to make the wall look like a present, they decided to use the ribbon to frame the crooked wall paper and the bow in the area of the wall that won't be seen in photos... Hubby and I had such a laugh watching all of this transpire.
My first Christmas without my youngest and I survived it
