http://www.ktla.com/news/landing/ktla-dems-call-weiner-resignation,0,2285038.story.why is it that when one of these guys (Mark foley) with money who get caught doing something the first thing they say is they are going to seek treatment? from what i have been reading all over the web when i come across a story about a RSO people always say that they can NOT be cured now IF the story IS true that he was sexting with a 17 year old you bet i am going to try my best to bring his world crashing around his ears.The "common" man gets no fair deals when it comes to things like this why should he be any different? this just pisses me off to no end.and everybody with power says a RSO can bot be cured they even have people locked up still even after they have done their prison sentence saying they are a danger and cant be cured. we we will see about that.Peace out and god bless
But I do agree that the "cannot be cured" idea is complete bullshit and a lot of psychologists (who haven't been brainwashed/paid by the government will tell you the same thing). It reminds of the girl who contributed to the bullying of the gay student at Rutger's who killed himself. It was her first offense and if she follows the probation rules and treatment for a year, the charges will be erased....Why can't SO's get this treatment? It's a lapse in judgement, as was her decision, yet she contributed to the suicide of someone and got off that easy? (Not that I wish a harsher sentence upon her, it just doesn't make any sense.)
Can a person who is a true pedophile--who is exclusively sexually attracted to pre-pubescent children--change that attraction? I wouldn't be surprised if the answer is that no, they can't. We know that sexual attraction is very, very difficult to change. So if we use "cure" to mean that they'd case to be sexually attracted to children switch to having an exclusive attraction to adults, I do think that pedophiles probably can't be cured.
But, I doubt that anything but a small number of SOs are true pedophiles. I think it's ridiculous to claim that an attraction to post-pubescent teens is pathological. Is it wrong to act on? In many cases, I personally think yes. But that's different from it being pathological.
When you say this to other people you should put "contributed to the DEATH of another person. not suicide that causes other emotions like sorrow and saddness, not vengance that 'causing death' does... remember they passed these laws on propaganda... Words are powerful just have to use them right... Nazis were experts.. and our government seemed to have learned from the best.
