My boyfriend and I have decided that this Sunday we will be telling my family about his past.
Just last weekend his little brother was in the hospital for an appendectomy, and after 5-6 years, both of his sisters, who he sexually abused at the age of twelve, actually wanted to see him. The oldest was so friendly to both of us, and the younger was willing to talk to him in a civil manner, but they are both wonderful girls and it was so nice to finally meet them. Boyfriend is very happy that it went well but doesn't want to push any more interactions unless they explicitly ask to see him first, it was such a big step, his mother was moved to tears to have all of her babies in the same room again.
We plan to tell my family about his whole past on Sunday, and he feels confident that my parents will accept it and value my opinion on the matter, he says he's told so many people over the years that he can usually gauge the reaction, and thinks the outcome looks good. I'm still worried though, as I always am and will be with major things like this, I tend to think the worst will always happen.
Please at least send us your support, God knows we both need it, and I'll be sure to share the news here once everything is all said and done!

If your parents are hesistant at first....give them time. By seeing you happy and knowing him more will only help.

I did see some earlier replies asking about specifics of my case, and when I get a chance I'll go back through and answer all those questions, and hopefully clarify a few things. Although with any luck tomorrow, it may become a non-issue :D
