I am just fed up with this registry. Everyday, I see more and more "sex offenders" registered and enlisted in this public display of shame. It upsets me to no end as I can't believe we live in a country that we are allowing this type of human destruction and degradation. The sex offender registry is a modern day "witch hunt" "scarlet letter" "leper colony." The new society outcasts. I am of the school of thought that once you have paid your debt to society, then you should be given a chance to begin a new. Yes, there are victims, yes, they may be traumatized. I understand all that and respect their pain and grief. I guess I am searching for the Christian behavior to forgive and allow people a second chance at life.

My fiancee, 53, who was falsely accused and pled no contest at advice of attorney now has to wear a monitor, live in fear of attacks or reprisals and have to send out letters that scare the hell out of neighbors who call the police station to protest that someone like him lives there. The registry creates more anxiety for the public. Yes, we are glad that he is not in prison, but the way he was railroaded is unbelievable. I can only imagine what it may be for others on this board. It's simply awful!

For him it has created, depression and isolation. He has lost friends. His family is too embarassed as they are married to prominent people and his status may hurt their standing in the community. OMG! Seriously, people, I want to scream.
