What about the individuals in organized crime that murder and slit people's throats and stick their body parts in other orifices to "send a message" who turn and rat out their friends and still after all the horrific psychopathic things they have done, get government witness protection. The government and federal law enforcement are all the biggest hypocrites and two faced liars I know.

Here is a Fox article with the same story. At least this one states that those that received a waiver to register didn't reoffend. I can bet many of them didn't reoffend.

According to the study, no REGISTERED sex offenders in the program reoffended.

There were a few sex crimes committed by non-RSOs in the program or after the program, but no offenses by previously convicted sex offenders.

That is why I can't trust the media to tell me about court cases or research papers.

You absolutely cannot trust FOX news. Even the guy who is in charge of it admits that he makes stuff up. Its amazing to me how many people watch FOX news all day. What a way to throw away your life and to suck up distorted thinking.

I guess I'm distorted then, but better that than believing MSNBC who have actually been caught, along with ABC blatantly making up lies, just look up the 911 tapes from the George Zimmerman/Trayvon Martin case. Both MSNBC and ABC edited and manipulated the tapes, making Zimmerman sound racist, but the full tape, released by FOX was unedited....

People in WITSEC have enough issues adjusting to WITSEC and case management by the US Marshall's Office. Yes, I agree that this is a story to generate Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt (FUD). Good to know that the XSO's stayed clean. Too bad it was not reported by all agencies that picked up the story.

Somewhat off-topic-I do not think one can trust any news service 100%. (Which is why I watch c-span and BBC).

I do not believe ANY media 100% - the days of integrity and checking the facts of a story are long over. it used to be that an editor of a news media would insist that the reporters verify their facts before then ran a story - those days are gone.

I agree Advocate. Every news station will lie, cover up, and twist the stories to make it fit their agenda. Whether it's CNN, ABC, Fox, etc., none of them will ever report the full truth. Days of journistic integrity are gone.

I would think that WITSEC is much like supervision. Constant checks by your 'case worker', starting your life completely over as if you just go out of prison and moved to a new city or state. Following the laws to the letter cause you can't get arrested while in WITSEC or you blow the elaborate cover the government made up for you.

It sounds much like supervision for life... And always looking over your shoulder...
