I worried when my son did the same thing as he was calling every other day. When several days went by I just got more and more worried, come to find out the phone was broke in his pod and he was not able to call.

Same thing happened with my son, one time the phone was broke and the second time this block was on lockdown due to a power failure. hopefully you'll hear from him soon

the only time that i have not heard from my daughter is when she was being transferred to a different facility. or the time she was in the hospital. if it hadn't been for a nurse in the medical unit at the prison when she got back taking pity on her??? it would have been even longer.

Thanks everyone. Hearing your stories has reassured me that he isn't flat out ignoring me. Hopefully tomorrow brings better news. :) I can't even begin to put into words how much I miss him-- he and our child are all I have here.

I'm not from the US as it sounds like you guys are! But I didnt hear from my dad for about 3 weeks, he was allowed to send letters but I think he was just finding his feet. He never used his free call and hes still settling in 6 weeks later. I hope you hear from him soon, I know it really is awful being at the other end of the process with no support or communication x

I'm thinking lockdown. We had a random one recently because of measles.

I got a letter today!
No reasoning for the lack of phone calls, but I'm glad to have gotten at LEAST a letter. I had started to feel like I was the only one who hadn't heard from him in one form or another (his Mother got to visit him, his father got a letter, his brother got a call... and I had nothing.)

So glad you heard from him .how is your fiance doing?

He is hurting for the loss of the years with our child... he will be gone for 5 years, which will put our baby at 8 years old.
He is trying to keep his head up for us, but I can tell that he is struggling.
His mother doesn't help matters by screaming about how I refuse to get rid of our pets (they aren't hers and its none of her business what pets we have, all that matters is that I can properly care for them and my child isn't in any danger.) so its stressing him out that she seems to only want to nag at him about it. It has never been any secret that she and I do not get along, and likely never will... haha.
But, otherwise, he sounded good. Was happy that my pictures arrived a few days ago. Now if only they would let him use the phone more than once every week. :/
