As I listen to the rain drops landing softly on my roof, I bring myself back, to my forgotten youth. When it would pour and I would run outside, my mother would yell, come back inside. But the water was cold and it felt so good, I would stay here forever if only I could. Then the rain would stop slowly and the rainbow would appear, I was soaked in my clothes, but I didn't care. I would run towards the rainbow looking for gold, I had no fear, I was so bold. Those were the days I look back upon, and wish I could go back, but those days are long gone. It was a time when I was so proud, a time that I could sing out loud. No one to judge me or laugh in my face, those were the days that have been erased. A label I live with, with shame and despair, in a state of sadness and nothing but fear. All the dreams I had for my life, gone in a minute like the speed of light. Nothing to lose now, nothing to gain, I look to a coffin and smile again. Close the lid and bid farewell, to a life of fear and a life of hell. But suddenly the rain starts to fall, my phone would ring, my mother would call. Remember the days you played in the rain, Go my son, go play in that rain. Run towards the stars she would say, never look back son, tomorrows a new day
