So my 37 yr old,  mentally disabled  son got sentenced to 7 yrs in a minimum security  federal prison, and 8 yrs supervised release. for CP on a PTP network. 2 yrs ago. He has been on house arrest since   The DA would not drop any charges,  so he had to plead guilty to all charges,   receiving, distributing and possesion. For a long time his PD assured  us that he would be able to plea to just possesion with no mandatory jail time. So now he goes to prison in September.  

We are both in total shock.  I've  been on "suicide watch" since the  sentencing.  We thought he might get 4 years tops. He is just so depressed and hopeless... Not doing too well myself... As we have had virtually no support from family members and am dealing now with many health issues.  Most of which im sure stress hasnt helped with... 

So many questions. How does he,  we prepare? When will we know what prison he will go to? All the federal prisons in PA  are at least a few hours away. And im quite sure im the only one who will go see him They did say he would go to one where he can get psychological help,  vocational etc.  Will he be treated badly? By the guards,  inmates? He has Asbergers as one of his diagnoses, and has no social skills.  Any info would help.  I think fear of the unknown is the worst!
