Glad I made it through my day. In fact I coincidentally turned a new leaf today. Concentrating on my goals, and putting a positive spin on things. I love my son so very much, and this whole thing has been extremely hard on me... Just hoping for the best in all of this.....

Hang in there , my son was in jail for his birthday last year and it was so hard, but it will get better. I always try to look for a positive in everything even tho you might not see it at the time something is happening and my son told me that was one of the things that helped him while he was there and it's helping him now.

Special days are hard. My son's birthday was in June. I asked people to send him birthday cards and some did. I was disappointed in the ones who didn't, but I guess you just have to let things go. I didn't know what else to do for him. Anyone else have that problem? And does anyone have suggestions for things to do --- I'm not looking forward to Christmas.

my daughter spent her birthday in jail too. and in the county facility she was in allowed nothing but post cards. no letters or cards. so her brother and i sat and drew then colored pictures on post cards for her to be in lieu of birthday cards.

it's been a while since any of us did much for any birthdays here at home but we really wanted to send her something.

My son spent his 21st bday a month into his sentencing and it was Xmas as well. It's tough when it's your child. I'd send him cards but it's kindof odd to wish someone a happy anything when they're in the joint.

My son was not in last year for his birthday but for Thanksgiving, etc. and this year he is still in there and his birthday is in a few weeks. I hate sending a Happy Birthday card, but I need to send him something and even if its a little extra money for his birthday for the commentary. Its so sad!

thanksgiving tore me up this past year. they came for my daughter 3 days befor thanksgiving. it's the one holiday that we really celebrate with a big meal and as much family time as we can get.

how in hell can you be all that thankful when someone you love with all your heart is missing because they are in jail?
