I understand, as a female not wanting anatomically male people in a girls locker room. I don't understand why we or they can't change in a stall (we were not allowed to change in bathroom stalls, we had to change in front of everyone.)
This is a bit far fetched. I would never allow any one to see me naked. If you wanted to suspend me go ahead, and I don't know of many parents that would disagree.
So now we have panty police. Awesome.
""Sex", the physical condition of being male or female, as determined by an individual’s chromosomes and identified at birth by that individual’s anatomy."
Thus, it matters not if a person has a sex change because the law would define a person by what sex they were when they were born. Moreover, the law opens the door to require students of all ages to undergo blood tests as part of the school registration process, to define their "sex" based on their chromosomes.
Yep, we have some strange people in the Missouri legislator who file overreaching Bills to dictate pretty much how a person walks, talks, breathes, and looks.
All these laws are disturbing in that the state is now going from telling you what you can do to telling you who you can be or are.
My experience is that gender is more than one's physical characteristics or outward appearance.
All the admin. has to do is look at the kids birth certificate. Of course, it's MTV news.
Call me a bigot, some here will, but I don't want my girls, especially in middle and high school to be made to share a stall next to a boy. I find it funny/sad when everyone is SO concerned about an EXTREMELY small minority but could care less about making the majority very uncomfortable.
Maybe they could make some special bathroom, a one toilet room these people could use.
It is so pretty in MO... I got my latest german shepherd from a wonderful breeder in MO... but those laws... and that one motel called the Longhorn Motel (a dive like I have not seen before in my life, that we stayed at when we were picking up the pooch). I'll never forget that MO trip... the motel, the puppy and all the puke... ahhh memories... LOL
What is the penalty for a child or parent refusing to pull down their pants to prove their gender? Jail? A fine? Expulsion? How will this be enforced? Who will enforce it? How will all incidents be reported? It is like they didn't think at all when dreaming up this fancy piece of legislation.
I am not against transgenders. It is a sticky situation. So instead of showing your genitals to get in a restroom there needs to be an alternate.
Maybe a single restroom for transgenders. But then again....they will complain about being discriminated!
