The status of America in a polarized nation
I recently sent the Mayor of Springfield, Missouri and all city council members an e-mail, in complaint of Chief of Police, Paul Williams, ignoring a very, very simple question. Who has jurisdiction to investigate a state official engaged in cyber hacking e-mail accounts without legal right, warrant, and authority? I discussed the fact that the question is a valid one and that it deserved a response, which any reasonable person would want, and that most certainly each council member would expect. The response that I received from them is the same response that I received from Chief Williams – absolutely no response at all.
As I reflected on their deliberate indifference and unwarranted polarization, I contemplated on the state of America, by the actions of those in government. I asked myself the fundamental question needing to be asked, in whether we honestly call ourselves a great nation any longer?
Last year, Springfield, Missouri City Councilman, Justin Burnett submitted his letter of resignation. Although he later rescinded his resignation, among the reasons he gave, is his observations of the extreme polarization among city council members. While Councilman Burnett’s assessment is correct, his view is a narrow one, for the greater issue is the polarization existing throughout our nation, between those in government and the people.
This polarization is an all too common theme these days, and, frankly, it is destroying our nation, city-by-city, and state-by-state. It is causing the breakdown of our democratic processes, and it is ripping apart the very fabric of our Bill of Rights and Constitution. Moreover, it is forcing people by swarms, to the sides of Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton, because each of them represents the anger that people have for the way those in government are acting.
Those in government have created an environment that pits one against another and promotes their belief that they have right to do whatever they please to the people. The environment they have created invokes governmental attitudes demonstrated in Flint, Michigan, Ferguson, Missouri, New York City, and throughout our entire nation, as it presupposes the inherent right for those in government to arbitrarily kill adults, deform children, and hack e-mail accounts. It is flatly contrary to our Bill of Rights and Constitution, as neither life, liberty, nor the pursuit of happiness, may be deprived or abridged without due process of law.
The polarization we see today began growing on that terrible day of September 11, 2001, and it has continued to grow ever since, because at our weakest point those in government took advantage to destroy our liberties for the sake of our so-called security. The formula used has brought us to a time in history of malfeasant conduct from those in government, as shown time and again, and perhaps no better demonstrated than what is occurring in Flint, Michigan.
When those in American government believe they have right to force children to drink contaminated water, to murder unarmed people for selling a cigarette, or to refuse to divulge who has jurisdiction to investigate, then we simply can no longer claim to be a great nation. A great nation is measured not by how those in government treat each other, but by how those in' government treat the people, and we are indeed failing in astronomical portions, that we should all be deeply ashamed of our politicians.
What security does one truly have if they are met by the tyranny of their own government officials who believe they are above the law, that they can force children to become deformed, murder people for selling a cigarette, or refuse to investigate one of their own? Is this not the same security our brave men and women fought so diligently to destroy in WWII and every war since then? If history tells us anything it is that at the core of such so-called security, the undeniable fact is, the people are held captive to the arbitrary will and self-serving agendas of those in government and, thus, the people are not truly free at all.

The people have willingly given up their freedom as it was disguised as something that was necessary to keep everyone safe. Benjamin Franklin warned us of this tactic, yet no one listened.
Hillary is a criminal that hasn't been caught for her myriad of crimes which if all put together would be some phenomenal RICO case.
Bernie needs to take that Econ 101 class that we have heard so much about. With everyone getting the same average grade. I think he might understand it better if he was paid whatever the true national average is for ALL citizens. It appears that would be just over $50,000 for each HOUSEHOLD, hope you don't have a lot of kids, Bernie! LOL
I personally believe that our 2-party system is a joke. That if it could be abolished it should be.
