I have found if it is a large corporation that runs it, they will not rent to you. You need to find a locally owned building. To many safety risk as far as they are concerned, I know that we could not rent from any large company as they will not rent to S.O. Good luck!

How were the attitudes of these people? Silence from my one contact.. and he owns the building.. makes me wonder how I should approach the next one. I don't want to scare them all away and be left with no options. I've come to the same conclusions when it comes to apartments. Those are lost causes, they do background checks so it's obvious they won't let a felon in.

It is a liability issue. If a building knowingly rents to a RSO who then commits an offense the landlord fears legal recourse. Why rent to a RSO when there are so many others you can rent to? I have found that the only people who will rent to RSO's are buildings that end up having mostly RSO's living there. Either that or family friends.

If you could buy a building like that you could amortize the entire building as a business expense. That is probably your best option if it is possible.

I would buy one but I'm $30,000 in the hole and my credit is wrecked from paying for attorneys next year.

I am planning to be listed as homeless and report into the police every 4 days. I am going to buy a motor home to stay in. I will still be able to go home during the day and leave each night and stay at my sisters moms and dads house if I want. I don't see why my address is listed and don't like it. So for me I am going to became homeless. I have not done this yet, still alot for me to work out but for your son this might just work out because he still would be able to live with you as well on his on. The problem is safety is found living with someone that can say he was home and yet the D.N.A testing would prove it was not him I dont know the law around your city or state, so ask what the laws are staying in a motor home.
