I think if she wanted the information she could of got it herself. Your hubby is letting this control him and yes it could land him back in prison eespecially if he trys to talk to her when his out. Yep I get it that his pissed off about it but this is something he can't change so his gotta suck it up......me and my love have had to do the same thing yep we are still pissed off about it but hey no point splitting hairs over something you can't change the only thing you can do is keep going forward and try not to look back and live in the past.
Hang in there iam hear if you need me.
His very first concern should be for your safety and you well being.
It is not easy to sit in prison and have no control over your life at all. It is another thing to try to take control of the lives of others when you have none over your own.
My wife helped me every single day. She was my reason to fight even when those who placed me in prison thought the battle was over.
My battle will never be over until I win or I am dead. During the years that I was in prison, my wonderful wife stood beside me. Not just through the trial and the difficult times to come, but through the every day doubts and fears that come with having no control over your own life.
The hope that his daughter may change her story is a dream. If she was programmed to say what she said, then she likely was so affected that she may even believe it herself.
He should get over it. If he thinks that getting out of prison means freedom, he has a rude awakening ahead of him.
If he is being disrespectful now, it will get worse hen he finds out what is ahead of him when he is released.
I agree with MrsHRC, he is likely to be a return statistic unless he comes to grip fast.
Were you with him when he was arrested?
If so, he has to understand that you had to fend for yourself while he was gone and hings are different now.
He isn't likely to just waltz out of prison and find himself a job that is going to be bright and meaningful.
He better learn fast that he will have to dig his heels in and fight for a future and he will he all the love and support that he can get.
Nearly 30 years after I went to prison, my wife still fights with me to over come this battle we are still fighting. I was released in the 80's but I am still not free. I still have the SORNA laws that I am battling and until that battle is won, the war is not over.
There is also the fact that no matter how innocent a person may be, there will always be those who have their own opinion and there is nothing you can do about that. They believe what they believe.
As for you, you have to decide if you are going to deal with this issue for the rest of your life too. Trust me. It affects you just as much as it does him.
Fortunately for me, my wife and I had several years of storybook romance to remember before this ever took place in our lives. no one can take that from us. They could only take our future, not our past.
The determination to fight the daily battles that lie ahead take more than wanting to do so.
They take determination, love, patience and hope.
When someone goes to prison for something they have done, they have themselves to be angry at more than anyone else.
But for those who are actually innocent, there is a different anger. One that is very difficult to deal with. And there are days when I for one and hardly fit to be around other humans. There are days when I am not sure why my wonderful wife is still with me. And then I remember that it was not just my life that was stolen. Hers was taken away as well. She was imprisoned as surely as I was.
If your husband is focused only on himself, he is going to find that life ahead is not very happy.
The delight at walking out of jail to find out that there are few places he will be welcome after his release will likely only further infuriate him and blaming those who are trying to support him will not make things better.
You have to decide.. and remember, even doing nothing is still an action.
I think you should look deeper before you decide to do nothing. What is ahead of you will require doing something, and nothing will result in only more problems.
You have several options. You can sit down and let him know that you will not tolerate this kind of treatment. You can also let him know what lies ahead and that if he expects to have any life at all it will mean working together.
You can let him know that trying to pressure a change of statement (which even if given may make NO difference in the end) will only result in further legal issues which he cannot afford.
Or you can cut your losses and move on with you life.
Only you know which is the best choice.
But doing nothing is not an option and doing nothing with someone with his attitude could only lead to an abusive situation.
beentheretoo has hit the nail dead center.
do not give into his demands. to do so will only cause more problems, and yes you have choices, they will be hard ones but ones that may very well protect not just your future freedom, but your quality of life!!!
Please keep in touch so we know that you are okay.
