Its shocking to see this, but the government does these kinds of things all the time with Medicare, so I guess its probably in every department.

However, in this case, I think John Lennon said it best (and you will have to reinterpret this accordingly.) "What if they gave a war and nobody came?"

i smell entrapment wonder what would happen if anyone who is not on the registry takes this test and instead of getting a prize they get a knock on the door instead and charged with a sexual offense even if they never committed one

maybe once these people start looking into the real cost and effectivness of the sorna act they will find it to be inflated, costly and ineffective. there has to be another way. wonder what we could come up with if we started picking away at sorna piece by piece and present it to them. of course we would have the whole thing abolished but if it we can make it make sense then why not enter it, just to get our two cents in?

I just think the whole concept of let's pass some legislation and then after it's passed hold a sweepstakes contest to find out what that legislation does and how much it costs utterly ridiculous.

this sounds so stupid a contest whatttt ?? i can care less about even a penny won . they can keep their money for all i care . stay clear from govt things , dont trust nothing. but JESUS is my opinion and my stand .

Peekachu has it right, the government runs these "contests" in several different agencies. The prizes are to entice various researchers into participating in the program. So far this is my favorite entry:

Agree with jackiecook.

I think the thing that got to me in reading the article is that there is so much FAITH in the underlying assumptions of SORNA. The whole thing is based on assumptions---such as, it is assumed that there is a deterrent effect, etc.

Well, you know what they say about assumptions... ASSUME = making an ASS out of U and ME

True which is why I think we should get as many people that can including RSOs to submit proposals that have proper information! I will have to read it again but I did not understand exactly what they are looking for? It seems like they are looking for a way to gather statistics? Anyway, if the educated do not submit stuff then the uneducated will.
