spoke to my attorney about sexting etc. .

Sometimes I just talk with him about what I might be able to do with my son. Our attorney was shocked and continues to be over these crimes..He does a lot of downloading cp stuff. He says he had 1 young man 26 y.o. today that had to take a plea. and he said he has another he's talking with next week. They're just rolling in.
I don't speak with him often but every time I do he tells me he has a current case that's just like my son's. Accidental download. With his work he saved my son at least a year in prison.
I mentioned how I saw they were working on changing the sexting laws because of 'technology of today'. which is the problem with these accidental cp downloads. It's mentioned often and we had it in our defense that our judicial system has not caught up with technology yet and that's the problem.
To me, any legsilation that recognizes the problems with new technology as I'm hoping this sexting issue turns out positive.. will help my son in some way. At least I'll make it help in some way.

The downloading of CP has become an epidemic. I read story after story about it, something has to change. Every time I go to my email, I wonder if something has come into my junk mail and if I will get busted for cp. You just never know! And the courts just dont seem to understand that crap comes in without your knowledge and theres nothing you can do about it.

The big problem we have is the public likes these laws. At sentencing the prosecutor said to 'put aside the forensics' and then he says that the court can't look like they're soft on these crimes,..which shocked me that he would even admit it. and that was it. The judge agreed.
I spent $5,000 on 2 sets of forensics which disproved his confession and showed these were accidental and the prosecutor says to put that aside. I'm glad I have these reports tho.. because some day my son will be a free man, because he should be.
Even if he had downloaded or was curious, or for what ever reason. These laws are overkill for every person labeled a sex offender. .except a handful of predators.
