Well, after not even being able to hear my husband's voice since late May, I'm finally getting to visit him this Sunday. Unfortunately, he is still in Reception (close to 120 days now), so no contact, just the phone and a piece of glass between us.

Another good thing--the thing that's helping me sleep at night--is that, after numerous "appeals," he finally got moved from a cell to the dorms. So now he has a space larger than 7' by 10' to move around in, can watch TV, play cards, and socialize with minimum security inmates who couldn't care less about prison politics. His stress level has decreased significantly, and so has mine.

To help pass the time, I've taken on several projects at work, so I am ALWAYS busy. While I used to look forward to the weekend, a part of me dreads it because it means more time to think, worry, and just make myself sick. I've found creative projects (like sewing, drawing, and jewelry making) as well as exercise and meditation to be most effective when I'm trying to calm down. What does everyone else do to get through the anxiety and depression?
