I had this idea. Tell me what you think.
We have all written letters right?
If one person in each family wrote a letter to their own governor and sent it on the same day, (say around Martin Luther King day) and we all sent them certified, registered, it might make an impact. A person in their office would have to spend their entire day signing for these letters. Can you imagine their office getting 5, 10, or 20 thousand letters on the same day? We would ALL have to participate in the campaign though and spread the word.
The letters could just be something stating how the registry has impacted your daily lives, and most importantly the lives of the children in our families. Some of the older children could even write their own.

I think it is a great idea! I would encourage us to to share our letters with each other, asking for input and editing, and then sending them out together.
I would be willing to do this!
Even in those states that do not have many supporters, 10 letters is better than 1. And some families might have more than one willing to write and send.
If we could get the word out to ALL organizations National RSOL and all state groups, Sosen, SoFar, CFC, etc. etc. to do this one thing on the same day, I think it would make an impact.
If we could all send them out for MLK day, in January. Either Sat.. the 14th, or Tues. Jan. 17th.
We would have almost two months to spread the word, and people should have time to write a letter after the holidays are over. We could even make a form letter for people to copy if they didn't want to write their own.
Every family would be out a few bucks to mail it registered, but ....If we want to effect change, people who can't do much, might be able to at least do this.
We all have talked about a protest, but in reality, it might not happen soon enough, if ever. This is one thing we all can do.

I do think for those of us who do write our stories/experiences we could share it here on this forum.
I know I wrote a passionate letter to many Senators towards the end of last year in opposition to a bill that was to go to the Senate floor. I posed a copy of it her back in December of 2010 and it can still be access on goggle since I signed my actual name on the letter I posted here on Daily Strength. I actually got a personalized letter in response from Senator Feinstein, 6 months later, but a response none the less!

Janice Belluci the attorney and coordinator from Ca. RSOL is going to announce this at their meeting in Los Angeles on Dec. 3rd.
MAIL THOSE LETTERS ON JANUARY 14TH!!!!!!!!!!!
