All - for those of you like myself who has a brother incarcerated, I just started a new group to support each other as siblings and discuss anything related to our situation which differs from other relationships(son/daughter, wife/husband, etc.)

Good for you. I know your new group will fill a need. Sometimes the more you have in common with someone the easier it is to share and connect.

I appreciate everyone here and I pray for all whether you have a son/significant other/spouse/aunt/uncle, etc.

Nothing changes but that if others on DS have a specific siblingn issue - we can relate.......i plan on staying closely connected w/ others and appreciate all the prayers just as much

Need to post it though in the main Prisoners Group so ones know though. Regularly or people new will not know you have the group. I will be sending ones to you now I know. What is the name of the group?

Thank you from all families out there that sisters and brothers needing to vent and work thru this too!
For their relationships with their siblings! They are always family but society makes living and loving SO's difficult.

Too bad they don't have a group just for all siblings of prisoners!That is needed too!

I would like to join this group please. My brother has been inside for a month and a half now and I would love to talk to others dealing with this.

Thank you so much for starting the siblings group. It seems like there is support out there for everyone but them. As a mom of five with the oldest son in for 13 months, and possibly another 6 years and 10 months to go, I have watched my other children trying to deal with how to go on with their lives without their big brother. They are at such an important time in their lives finishing their high school soon, in the middle and just starting. that leaves one so young that most of her childhood memories I fear will be of her adored big brother in jail. I have looked for support groups and things to try and keep them connected but there is nothing I have found.

I would like to join this group please, my brother is in prison for killing his wife and attempting to murder his step son amongst other things still under investigation
