I love the holes in Val's arguments, "Obviously RSOL have conveniently decided to have a memory lapse when only LE was privy to the freaks on our streets. Megan Kanka is our best example of that."
So since the registries have been put in place there have been no more Megan Kanka like crimes? Or has the registry had an impact on the overall sex crime rates? What evidence do you have to support your claims? Oh that's right none.

My son is serving 10 + years federal, and facing life on the registry for internet CP. He has never ever touched a child. Never been in trouble before, not even a parking ticket. I would LOVE to see the entire system overhauled. I know, wishful thinking.
What i'm more annoyed with is the biggest groups in this fight lack the guts to come out and say what REALLY needs to be said-- the registry needs to be ABOLISHED.
I don't mean "scaled back" or "LE Only," I mean NO registry.
I'd like to remind everyone the registry started out as a police-only list of only those determined to be a high risk (primarily repeat offenders). It only took two years for the list to go public. This registry is a hydra. Cut off one head and it will simply grow back!
Val is small potatoes compared to the real problem here.
i honestly do wonder if she herself, ever sexually abused or molested a child or someone who was younger and vulnerable? maybe it's her way of atonement for what she has done?
I also posted an interview that was in Slate about how more and more people are realizing the registry does nothing.
