Residency restrictions do nothing to end sexual abuse, not only that they make it more likely for future abuse to occur by not letting the offender reintegrate into society. This is our best argument to the media and the masses.
In fact I wrote my SO's victim. I sent it to theDA to forword it. It is horrible what she went through. And i told her even though i support him...does not diminish what she went through.
I can see both sides. I wish it didnt happen. But you can wish in one hand and s--t in the other and see which one fills up first. Hmmmm
When there is no other side to the story this is pushing people on an emotional level, and they end up hating everyone on the registry.
Those who hate SO's say that we don't care about the victims, we only want what is best for the SO's at the expense of the victims. We can help support them, but not sign away anyone's rights to do it.
I know a lot of people who were sexually abused. I would probably run out of fingers on both hands counting them.. and you know what they did (including me) .. go on with their lives. most of these people have been abused by family or friends. If you're sitting with others right now most likely 1 or more have had some kind of sexual abuse.
As I said .. without information about BS labled RSOs 'support' like this is just a 'feel good' thing for Gaga and all those who watch and feel sorry for the 'survivors'.
Not when my son is branded and none of them care that he is. To them he's a bad guy that needs to be kept away from their children, just because he's on a registry.
Like I said, I'm good with programs to help with counseling and education, that's fine but education should also include REAL stats not hyped up media witch hunts.
And yeah, I don't care about "Vicky" either...seems she'd gotten her pound of flesh and then some. To use the lingo, she's re-victimizing herself for money. If it were me, I wouldn't want to know...just leave me be to move on and live my life.
We all know that "Vicki" and "Amy" only see this as a way to get a paycheck - forever victim.
Like yourself, many victims are able to heal and move on with their lives, then becoming survivors. We should be there to help them with that transition. We should want them to heal and move on, otherwise, we are keeping them in victim mode,
You want to hire attorneys all day to help your son get off the registry and prove his innocence, which is admirable. However, you are not experienced to know what to look for and may it see that your son's case (although innocent) may not be the ticket to get him off the registry. All you will be doing is spending all of your money with no action to prove its effectiveness.
Your money is better spent on an advocacy group that is fighting for the rights of ALL men like your son. Or your money could be better spent on ensuring he can take care of himself financially long after you are gone.
At the end of the day, it's your money to spend it how you choose, I ask that you look where your money has the biggest bang for your buck. Not sprinning your wheels and not going anywhere.
