A guy in my fiance's group got a travel permit for his honeymoon, and he also got married while on parole.
Again, you'll have to ask his parole officer.
If you travel, it has to be inside the U.S. or inside a U.S. Territory. You don't want to mess with international travel, most places are not RSO friendly.
The advice about your P.O. is correct, they will have the final say during your obligated sentence. I needed to provide my itineraries to the local cop who I Register with on the RSOL.
One more thing, on Royal Caribean I had to talk to ship security prior to one particular trip.
Good luck, and make sure to keep everyone informed and follow the requirements.
I've traveled internationally but not since 2008. I hear it's a bear now.
I don't want to give anyone false hope, all I can do is tell you my experiences.
In June/July 2014, my wife and I flew into Paris and cleared customs. Then flew to Milan, Italy and cleared customs there. It was not even an issue. We boarded a cruise ship (royal Caribbean) in Venice. Croatia, Greece, and Turkey were all part of the cruise stops. Once you're on the ship you don't go through customs at any of the stops.
Bahama's was in 2013 - also Royal Caribbean.
My wife and I drove to Canada in 2009. We crossed the border in Washington, near Vancouver. Maybe Canada has changed since then? It wasn't a problem.
All that being said, I'm not sure what your particular restrictions are? My offense was 25+ years ago and I don't have any restrictions on who I can associate with. Each case seems somewhat unique.
I informed my RSOL officer 2 weeks prior to travel (per my requirements). As I referred to before, I was contacted by security on the RC cruise and they asked me a few questions about the offense. My answers must have satisfied the guy, because he emailed back a day later and said it was okay. He did ask that I not participate in the teen nightclub onboard. That's it.
Please do all possible due-diligence before you travel. I intend to continue traveling until someone stops me.
Blessings on your future travel plans
