Sentencing tomorrow

It's been a long 2 1/2 years of waiting and now the day is finally here. My husband and I just got married 3 weeks ago and had our honeymoon which I am super happy and thrilled about. We were lucky the judge gave us an extension so we could still have the wedding of our dreams and a trip before this fateful day. I have no idea what to expect. My husband is facing 6 to 8 years for 1 count of possession of CP. it's crazy to me that he could get this long of a sentence for a first time offense for less the 10 videos, none of which contained adults abusing children, mainly teenagers with other teenagers. It's all the same to the government though. I love my husband and think he is an amazing man who just made a terrible mistake with file sharing. We have already got our ducks in line for what happens next but we just got married and it hurts me to think about him going away for 6+ years. I have 2 jobs and college and I just started volunteering at an animal shelter to help keep my mind busy. I feel after all this is over, no matter what, I can mend some broken hearts while they mend mine back. My husband and I just got kittens a few months ago too, he thought they will keep my company and loving if he does have to go away. Wish us luck tomorrow, I will update what his sentence is. I am numb. Strong but numb. No idea how my life will chance in the next 12 hours...

Good luck. My husband was sentence to 6 years in may. He was looking at 3-8 yrs but the judge gave him 6. We take it day by day. You have my prayers for you and your husband.

Sending you all the love and luck the world! I remember how horrible sentencing was, we had it twice due to a deferral for extra psych reports. I think I used every tea bag in the house, as mum said "if there's nothing that can be done put the kettle on" wonderfully stereotypical British!
Before my husband left he told me no matter what the result its the end of the waiting, the beginning of the end of it all. I hate that he's in prison but he was right. This part is nearly over and we can start rebuilding.

Update: the sentencing went well, the judge has postponed sentencing another 2 months because he wants our lawyers to pick a program for him to enter.. We are thrilled with this outcome but hate that we have to wait another 2 months for another hearing. We have been playing the waiting game long enough but I guess another 2 months with my husband is something I should cherish. Thank you all for your wishes and prayers.

Enjoy your 2 months together the best you can. When my husbands case was deferred for the additional psych evaluations he was devastated he had to wait the extra 5 weeks but thrilled at the same time. We took our children on holiday, went days out, anything we could enjoy. There was no bickering, it was the nicest time we had since the arrest.
