So I take issue with the number of cases I have come across the past few years when someone TAKES A LIFE and gets hardly anything for it. Better yet once they're out these people have no further punishment.
Woman gets two years for killing motorcyclist while texting.

Only a month ago a guy was sentenced to one year, only nine months to serve for killing someone while drunk driving.
Numerous cases such as these play out year after year but go pee in the woods and get ten plus registry. WTF is wrong with people?!?!

They have become sheeple, controled by fear, created by career politicials. They have no critical thinking skills. IMHO

i agree FrogPond - it has been going on for a long time with murder - I had a friend that was murdered almost 30 yrs ago - a guy chased her down one night and slit her throat with a carpet knife - he got 5 years in prison and his charge was reduced to involuntary manslaughter - he said he forgot the carpet knife (which by the way he opened his glove compartment to retrieve) was in his hand and he meant to slap her - one would think it could be because murder has the lowest re offense rate but wait sex crimes have the second!

Or the case of Billy Lane, who already had a long list of felonies and suspended license and got four years for drunk driving and killing someone. The kicker? Upon his release he got ALL his felonies expunged from his record. How the BLEEP did manage that one?!?

Or even the difference between counties. One man gets two teens drunk, rapes them and gets 5 years probation after a trial. One man, kisses a women after she admits to touching him and then when he moves out claims she was asleep and taking seraquel. He gets 10 years probation.. ???

I agree. What really fried me recently was when Pistorius got five years, only a couple days after my son was sentenced to 30.

One quick look around the local news and the glaring discrepancies in sentencing is painful.

Its pretty crazy. In my county there were 5 circuit court judges. Our attorney said that two of them would have put my husband away for life without even thinking about it. The other two were "iffy" and the 5th would give a well-reasoned sentence. Well, thank God we got the 5th judge!! My husband will be getting out after 4 1/2 years this coming Spring. The assignment of a judge was apparently a crap shoot ...that went our way. I can't help but feel for others who are not so fortunate.

I've read lawyers will try to get more favorable judges by requesting a change.
