Sentencing Hearing End of November

Do you remember those old cartoons with the woman tied to a big log as it inches closer and closer to a whirring saw? That's how I feel right now. My son pled guilty in a plea bargain and now we have to wait two months to find out how muchpunishment society will impose on my son and consequently the rest of our family.

Anyone have any good advice for how to wait for the worst day of your life?

Yes hun...... live every day with happiness! Although it will be tough because tensions are going to mount. Just let your son enjoy all that he can and you as well.
When they took my son off in handcuffs from court, that was the one regret I had. Not spending every waking moment with him. If you can, have a Thanksgiving dinner and Christmas with him.
Live every day as if it were the last days of your life. I know that may sound morbid, but just enjoy your time with him and the freedom that he has left.
I found comfort in my religion and faith. If it weren't for my faith, I would have shriveled in to a ball of mush.
Just know that we are all here for you!

I remember those cartoons. Try and keep busy and do spend quality time with your son like RWsMom said.
Try and take care of yourself in the meantime. If you don't it is like letting them win. Is there any activity that your son would like to do that he has never gotten around to. A special restaurant, watch a certain movie, etc.
My thoughts and prayers will be with you during this difficult waiting period.

We had to wait about that same amount of time... You live in the moment. Live each day and stop thinking about the end of December other than the appointment that you have to keep on that date.

I found comfort in the routine of daily life, because one day the routine will be broken... so savor those monotonous times, cause they will come to an end for a while...

And the tried and true advise... Try not to think about it... Because there is nothing you can do about it RIGHT NOW.

We (my bf and I spent as much time together). We had Thanksgiving and Christmas together with my family. His last birthday before he went in we spent the weekend together. He was on house arrest for about a month before he had to turn himself in to start his sentence. Every moment we had we caught up on movies and fun so we'd have memories to sustain us til he came home. Build and make as many memories as you can. Those fun times are the things he can turn back to when he's having a hard day. I hope the best for your son.
