What I can assure you of is that you're not alone. That whole ex post facto limitation doesn't seem to exist for sex offenders. I was convicted before there was a Meghan's law. Still after I served my time I was required to register as a level 2. In my state that required me to register for 10 years. Months before my 10 year cut off my state signed legislation requiring 30 years of registration with a possibility of removal from the black list after 30 years pending court approval and jumping through many hoops. Now I'm on my 23rd year on the registry but not hopeful because I'm thinking by year 30 there will be new ex post facto laws coming my way.
