Alright....so the house we were living in was not all that livable. So we moved in with a friend of ours to save money so we could find another place. The landlord met Matt and as far as we knew had no problem with us moving in....until all his other renters around got the notification cards and kept calling and telling him that if he didn't make him move they would move. We were planning on moving anyway so whatever. Wee since it was only a month after we moved in to that place, the sheriff that does the registration is making us pay the $200 for sending out the cards. Ok yea we kinda got upset about it but no biggie. The only thing is that he said that before we move into a place that we have to tell the landlord and get written consent for us to move in. So we got to talk to the guy where we were moving into. Keep in mind we had already got the eviction notice from the first place. He flat out refuses to allow it because he says its against the law for us to live anywhere that has kids in the community! Really sorry excuse... So we go on the hunt again. Finally a week later at the very last minute we found a place. Luckily because they were about to charge him with failure to register. So we go in yesterday to register at the new address that for some reason has 2 different ones. A physical and mail box. We accidentally got the 2 switched so that made the sheriff mad and he called me to have Matt come back in. So he is trying to say that it cost the state $100 to change that in the computer....and if anything happens again that he will just issue a warrant and be done with it! On top if that he said he is trying to get a law passed to make all RSO's have to pay before they move for the cards to be sent out. As its not hard enough to find a place that is within the specific retarded ass guidelines now we might have to pay so everybody knows as well!! Another thing that doesn't make sense is we found a really nice place away from everything except an amusement park here in town. Apparently that's included in the crap we can't live by too. Oh but he can pay to go be in the park all day long just like everybody else. Makes no f'n sense!!! Ahhhhhhh ok I'm done
I mean, the only reason I can see for the distance limitations to be so extreme would be the seriousness of his offense.... but even then, MAKING y'all pay, and then the RO -[THREATENING]- y'all with throwing your man in jail because HE doesn't want to do his goddamn job and HELP y'all......so effed up. I'd report him to the FBI or something, because there's no reason that RO should be -again- a douche. =/

Even here effed up FL, as regards to the "notification" b.s., I believe their is a slight distinction in the fact that "Predators" they have to notify the neighborhood, but "Offenders", notification of the neighborhood is encouraged but NOT MANDATORY from the police--so basically, it is a choice the authorities make. So, assuming your loved one is designated "Offender" not "Predator" ( in the state of FL), I would politely let the powers that be that since your hubby is ALLREADY and is MANDATORY that he be listed on the registry, anyone can access that free of charge, it behooves the people that are so concerned, to look it up themselves.
To state that they are gonna charge you for something that they are doing to notify the others, and then get their panties in a bind because y'all are moving to a different location...that is just insane. Just goes to show how abusive this system is regarding SO's. I'm sure soon we will have to pay back the state or Feds for our loved ones LONG incarcerations. I mean really, why should the Government pay for their incarceration when we can draft up new laws everyday for these poor unfortunate souls who got themselves extremely long sentences for CP posession?? (Please, everyone..note the sarcasm...).
And , I am sorry for the authorities luck...but to state it costs $ 100 to change the address in the computers...yeah..and I poop solid gold nuggets EVERYDAY....totally B.S.!!--Tell them, you will change in the computer for half that costs!!..I apologise to be so flippant sometimes, but this crap has to end...This charging for every thing involved with SO's after they have served their time is ridiculous!! THEY have to pay to goto mandatory classes, pay for mandatory polygraphs, pay to be on the fricken registry, and now pay for neighborhood notification, ect, ect, ect....and on & on it goes...so sad...common sense, like Elvis,,has certainly left the building!!
