I read in one article that the police were tipped off by an ex-girlfriend. Now I see that he has had to pay an ex-girlfriend for sexual battery. I'm wondering if the two are related.

I saw this on last nights news. I think his case will be one that shocks more than most, definitely in the UK anyway. High profile celebrity cases have been people like Gary Glitter, Jimmy Saville, Ian Watkins etc. Once they are arrested people say "oh I always knew there was something about that dirty old man". I'm curious as to what the public will have to say about a young man who many have lusted after during his time on Glee.

People will not "Get it..." until the prisons are full and the price per occupant reaches a level that causes taxes to rise. Then there will be a mass release of selected individuals which will....again... raise the public fear rather than deal properly with the problem in the first place.

They have to replace the empty cells from the failed war on drugs somehow to maintain their profits.

People will never get it. It's icky, and people don't understand it. And because they don't understand it they are scared by it. This general fear for the youngest people in society will cause people to make insane laws.

Fear > money

From what I have read about this story, his ex-girlfriend is the one who alerted the cops to the photo's on his computer of young females in sexually explicit pictures. According to the cops, they found "hundreds" of the photo's on his computer and were expecting to find some on other electronic devices he has. Whether any of this is true, remains to be seen, but let's face it, all it takes is an allegation to destroy a man's life.

If there is such a thing as a bright note to any of this it is the fact that with media exposure increasing about the rich and famous engaging in alleged sex crimes, it helps to put a new face on the whole issue from that of the normal way sex offenders are viewed. I do not know if this will help beyond that of people getting a better understanding that it is not a poor man's issue.

The one's that tick me off the most is these politicians who get busted for sexual crimes, yet, never see the light of day in criminal charged filed against them -- all while they preach about throwing the book at sex offenders.

No matter how guilty/innocent he may be, he's a celebrity. He will probably hire a celebutorney and will get an abstract ruling.

Independent - I agree with you (don't faint! lol) but only in the way that I do not think people want to admit they do get it - I think a lot more people get it than we know ... hope that made sense ... LOL

I think people's minds have been changing for the better and certainly much more rapidly in the past three years than ever before. We've seen more and more corruption come to light and more and more push back against law enforcement than ever before.
People are slowly realizing the cost of the "justice" system.
