Rumor about what a PO is like seems to always backfire from what I have seen. I think it is because people lie about how they dealt with that person. If they were cocky, rude, condescending, or irresponsible and then got dinged for it by the PO. Especially if they believe that they really did nothing wrong, even though they did break some rule or code. I have noticed that there are some folks on supervision that will give their PO a hard time and then wonder why they have not privileges. I have also see the same thing go the other way too.. Where an offender tries but the PO has a bad attitude for whatever reason, and then takes it out on the offender, making their life a living hell.
Best advise is to take that new PO at face value, treat them with respect and wait to receive the same. Respect is not given it is EARNED, so don't expect it right off the bat. Even if that PO has been reported as horrible by everyone you talk to, you might find that they aren't to you because for whatever reason you guys get a long. I used to worry about that stuff too, now, I don't, especially now that I have seen that most POs will only give what they get, so you give them a hard time, expect it in return. Also, the longer a person is out of prison and behaving on supervision, the less and less you have to really worry about that PO unless you live in one of those areas that everyone is crazy... Such as Madison WI or Milwaukee or the Green Bay area and La Crosse area... they are just CRAZY stupid down there about sex offenders... heh
I'm fine... some days your mind Just races, you know? We didn't even have time to mentally prepare for the GPS to be removed. It was just a call telling him to make sure he's home at a certain time because they're coming to take it away.
We've been dreaming and talking about this day for So long. So glad to be able to spend more time in Pennsylvania with family and not have to deal with being limited to once a month.
It just hit me! We don't have to choose holidays!
