My son was in court yesterday and again I was there for him. He may be getting a 9yr sentence with lifetime registration. He won't be getting the help he needs for the issues that brought him to this point. He needs much more than punishment.
He gave up so much by turning himself in, his friends, family, freedom and his liscense. I know the sentence could be much longer, but there were a lot of goodbyes during his treatment after his stepfather left us. It's difficult that after all this time and his hard work, this is where we've come.
A positive note, he may be able to serve his time at a prison about 30minutes away. I'm hopeful.
