My PO's up north had a sex team that met with the therapist. It's was a joint decision.

Good article on polys. It says they are used with sex offender treatment to make sure the SO is self reporting or not.

Since my son doesn't take SO treatment, only mental health I'm hoping this is something I don't have to pay a lawyer to deal with. So far the only one who's asked about the Poly is the PO. But today is supposed to be my son's last session with his therapist. I'm hoping it doesn't come up and this poly thing just goes away.
It's in his release papers. Our Floriduh attorney really should have gotten this taken off when the SO treatment was. but he didn't and since it's the norm it was included in his release.

Unless the therapist requested it for release from the mental health therapy? I am a worrier and this has me worried for you... If it is a maintenance poly it will have little about sex life and more about 'whatcha been doin'" kind of feel...

I am pretty sure it comes from the PO. I am not sure there are any laws in place specifying who has to be poly'd and I think it is up to the PO. If the PO pushes for it I think you will need to get your lawyer involved again.

Here In California, it is part of the court ordered therapy, and the therapist requests the Polys.

Idk, in my hubby's SO class paperwork, it mentioned that he "could" be polyed if the therapist felt the need. He never was, same thing with drug an alcohol testing etc.

In my district, polys were a mandatory part of supervised release as was being in treatment. The number one reason that I saw an SO go back on a violation was :they did something stupid, got kicked out of therapy and that was a violation.
I only knew 1 SO who didn't take polys, he was wealthy, had a great attorney and was arguing polys were junk science and shouldn't be mandatory. On the day his case was to be heard before a federal judge at 12 pm, the same AUA had argued in another case (where the prisoner had passed a poly and wanted restrictions lifted) that his office didn't believe poly results.
So, the judge said "You can't have it both ways" and let the SO not take polys. I believe it was the Eastern District of NY.

Thanks. I think it comes from the therapist or treatment center. And my son is no longer being 'treated'. Yesterday he had a 6pm session. He's in Mental health treatment and no SO. And it was his last, release papers are being written up and he's done.
I bring him there and wait in the other room until it's over. Last night when I walked in to get him he looked taller, more relaxed and his arms & legs were open. Not his usual crunch up like a ball. It's been tough for hm to go there.
On the way home we didn't talk about it, just listened to music. When he got out of the car he seemed more like a human being than a caged animal.

and on to the next thing . . because there's always something.

Great news Nak. Yay! I will agree 100% about the feelings of being off probation and the treatment. My parents said pretty much the same thing about me when I was done. They basically said that i became a person again.
