1 am in the morning Friday my son called me. He said the cops were pounding on his door. Not just knocking but pounding and then, using their flashlights tried to look into his darkened home.
I live right down the street so I got my big black lab and took her for a walk down that way to walk past his house. There were 2 cop cars out from with lights flashing. As I passed them by 2 cops were talking with a guy who was hanging out at the club 1/2 block over. I don't know what they were talking about but I hear the guy say something about hearing a sound.. I slowed walked the dog past my son's home. I realized they were not there for him so I went around the block and went home.
I'm sure they just wanted to ask my son if he heard anything. But at 1am in the morning you'd think they would just knock and when they didn't get a response then walk away instead of non stop pounding and searching with flash lights thru his home.
My son knows not to answer the door for these guys. But it really scared the crap out of him. My son figured if they were after him they'd knock down the door.

If asked, by his PO, I would maybe say that when he heard the door being pounded on, it triggered PTSD and was unable to get to the door to answer.
Yeah.. they probably knew he was a registrant and that's why they were excessive.
At this point he's going to make like he didn't hear it. It's best to not add any extra BS to deal with.
Good for your son to just wait for them to go away... it is better for him all around... let him say he slept through it... they don't know if he is a light sleeper or not... I know I can sleep through a tornado cause I did once when one landed only a mile from me and ripped up a bunch of my neighbors stuff... so they could pound on my door all night and I wouldn't know it... then again my dog would wake me up... heheheh
Make sure he tells his PO about it, just to cover his own ass.
