I don't know any immigration atty., BUT...Is your wife in this country legally? If so, can she claim refugee status, meaning..Does she fear for her safety if returned to a Russia that is ruled by a former KGB Colonel?

Since they denied her I-485 she is not considered legs now and is told to leave as soon as possible, I can't lose her, she is my world, she knows who I REALLY am and has been so supportive of me, SHE has made me stronger and I will just fall apart if she's gone. My heart goes out to both of you. When you think of all the illegals that come to this country and are allowed to stay, it's not fair! Maybe your wife should go to your governor, congressman, senators? There has got to be a way for her to stay in this country. Coastie's idea sounds like a good idea to me. If she can claim that he life may be in danger in Russia?

In this case I would go to the media - contact your local SO group and get the name(s) of reporters that are understanding about SO issues - then go to the media - with all the stuff going on about illegal immigrants she is/was legal and they are doing this? And also she is legally married to an American citizen? You need to emphasize that although you may have a label you ARE still an American citizen!

Advocate, love your words, I live in Fort Lauderdale Florida and I dont have a local group to go to, but I agree I need to bring this to the media, Just dont know how, any ideas would be appreciated

sparkyman, there's GOT to be a local chapter of F.A.C. (Florida Action Committee, for the new folks here), either In Ft. Lauderdale or close by. If nothing else, contact Gail and explain the situation to her. I agree on this one, get the media involved, this is a perfect example of how the registry controls and destroys lives and families. If nothing else, go solo and start contacting media outlets yourself. Just be careful when dealing with reporters, maybe run them by Gail, they can turn on you and twist a story around to serve a purpose, you need to find someone sympathetic to your plight.
