Probably after being in denial for several months, my son has been arrested and extradited to California. The D.A. has charged him with 12 counts. He is only 23 and I am just so sad, forlorn and I believe in my son. I will stick by him regardless. He is my shining light. I put out $10K for the attorney. Which will only pay up to pre-trial. My ex is trying to get the other $10K for trial. Prelim. came up with 28 years. OMG the thought of that is much too much to bear.

Anyway..enough of that whimpering. I have gone through so many stages of grief in the past weeks and months. I have reached acceptance, somewhat. But this is the deal. He is in Calif, and both his father and I are in the Midwest. Are there ever any situations where they will let you do time in a different state then being charged?

Are there any organizations that offer pen pal services, or even visiting inmates and befriending them.

I am heading to California next week, but will only be able to visit him for one day. If anyone has any suggestions it would be helpful.
