I know what you are going through . My husband was just sentenced to 7 years . Its a night mare you feel like will never end . I will be praying for you.

Dear Worried...from one nightmare to another, I understand your dread and the wishing one could just wake up somewhere over the rainbow. But I was once told by a friend that the only way out of a dark valley is to just keep going through it. One foot in front of the other. One step at a time. I'm praying for you, too.

Worried, I'm here with you, hun. We're still waiting on my hubby's prelim-hearing. It had been scheduled for last Tuesday, but they had to continue it because his lawyer bailed on us. He's put in the application for a PD, but we have to wait til they get back to us, and then schedule the hearing again. In the meantime, he sits in jail and twiddles his thumbs because none of us has the 5k to get him out on bail.

*hugs* It's like Honest said, one foot in front of the other, take it day by day and enjoy the time you have with him. I try to live for the moment, without worrying too much about what's coming around the corner, or dwelling too much on what we used to have. Yeah, some days it's harder than others, but that's what your friends are for. We're here whenever you need a shoulder to lean on, or an ear to vent to. ^_^

A prelim is just a hearing to plea guilty or not guilty. It might take 30 mins at max. My son's first prelim was in 2005, we went to trial in 2009. Don't fret this.......it's nothing to get upset about. It's just a formality. :)

Thanks everyone... We were told this hearing with determine if they are going to indight him on the charges or not. More than likely since it is sexual solicitation of a minor they won't just drop it. But one can hope. I am just nervous for him. I try to stay strong and positive but boy does it get hard at times.

Kim, you mean it was four years between the preliminary hearing and the trial? That's horrible! I've never heard of it taking so long. Why did it take so long?

The young lady was pregnant with another boy's child! The prosecutor didn't want her pregnancy "to sway the jury's decision"! So we had to wait for her to have the baby and then to loose all of her baby fat! Grrrrrr

Wow, Kim! That's amazing. Did you know from the start it would be that long? Also, did your son waive his right to a speedy trial? My son did that, so he could have more time to earn enough money to pay his lawyer. For us, it's been a little over a year, so far. the lawyer still hasn't been paid the full amount, so I wonder if that's what motivated him to keep doing things to delay the trial.
